About Us

Finding great children’s books online can be difficult. There are so many options, and with only a few pages of each book to preview, how do you know that you’re getting a great story that’s authentically inclusive?

We’re here to take the stress out of shopping for children’s books.

Our specially curated selection has stories featuring various aspects of diversity, helping you create an inclusive library for your child. We work directly with publishers to review books and only select ones that meet our inclusivity standards. It’s not enough for a book to just be inclusive – we want it to be fun to read so that you’ll go back to it again and again.

Story Post was started to promote these fantastic books and make it easier for parents to find them. We were founded in Munich, Germany, in 2022 when we realised how much harder it was to get English-language books after Brexit. Where you live shouldn’t restrict your access to great books, which is why we ship our books to expats and English speakers across the EU.

About our founder:

Lisa Davis is a children’s book expert with over a decade working in children’s publishing. She used to work for the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, where she bought books that went to every child in England. So not only does she focus on inclusive books, she finds the best ones that will get your kids reading.

Alongside running Story Post, she’s a children’s book editor and publishing consultant. She works with authors, publishers, and charities to help them make their books more inclusive. You can read more about her editing work over on her website.

Originally from the US, Lisa became a UK citizen in 2017 and has lived in Germany since 2018. She founded Story Post alongside her husband, Lee O'Connor, a commercial manager with a background in subscription services.

Our inclusivity standards:

We believe all children should be able to see themselves in a book in a safe and positive way, and that children benefit from reading about lives different from their own. We look at books across various facets of diversity including race, ethnicity, disability, family setup, gender, and accessibility. These themes are mentioned on each book in our shop, but if you ever have any questions about the content of certain books, we’re only an email away.

We are an LGBTQ+ friendly company and support own voice creators of all backgrounds.
